The first one didn't need a sequel, but I honestly think this movie could've been one on its own. The backstory of the doll and everything could be kept, but if the first movie didn't exist, this movie would be pretty cool. I think the reason people don't like it as much is because they keep comparing it to the first one and the whole plot that the real Brahms was moving the doll and that it wasn't supernatural. I think if it wasn't being compared, it would have been a pretty good movie. idk

Yo I swear I watched a different version. In the one I watched his head doesn't turn on camera and also in the one scene where the mom inspects his hands and feet theres no flies coming out of his mouth. Instead she gets scared because his hand falls on hers. I think I kinda liked that a little bit more. It kinda kept you guessing a little bit longer if the doll was actually possessed or not.

Oh and he also didn't look like that underneath he was just a "normal" empty porcelain doll... this is so weird

It literally took me half of this video to realize the kid was actor Christopher Convery. He also happens to play another fully mute character, Martin, in Gotham. But dude, starting your career that young and literally taking acting roles of silent kinda stoic child where you can't speak but still get all the same emotions across is hard. Honestly at the end of the first movie I thought that the guy was crazy and he was just moving the doll and I wish they went with that approach in the 2nd movie instead of a supernatural approach. I didnt hate the boy 2 and I actually enjoyed it but I think it would have been better if the movie went in the non supernatural approach

The first movie was decent this one was pretty bad. I mean she looks up his serial number incorrectly and it's not until 30 minutes later is she like oh maybe it was upside down let me try again.

THERE ARE 2 COMPLETE DIFFERNT VERSIONS OF THE MOVIE. The Theatrical cut (american) & The Directors Cut . (I only found out by downloading the movie and struggling to sync there commentary track). The theatrical cut is what you saw here. But the directors cut, you don't see any paranormal stuff with the doll; no head moving, no eye moving, no locusts come out his mouth NO CORPSE IN THE DOLL (But the ending SPOILER ALERT: is still basiclly the same). I guess they thought american audiences wouldn't care about it if you couldn't see brahms move

So...... who else never saw either movie and thought that the sequel had the same characters as the original because the actors are practically identical?

Now the reason why I hate this movie is because they completely disregard the original plot twist in the last movie, which in my opinion was a great plot twist and they had the potential to build upon that.
