Because, other than the idea that there was an Uncle Fred who died just before Halloween, EVERYTHING else about this story is something my writing partner, John Lau, and I, wrote. And, to his credit, R.L. Stein actually celebrated this, when he credited the novelization fo the film thusly... "When Good Ghouls Go Bad" by R.L. Stein, based on the Screenplay by Patrick Read Johnson and John Lau.

Thanks from an italian guy. I watched this movie one time when i was a kid and loved it but never had the occasion of watching it again. Luckily, the memory was too strong to make me forget about it.
