He’s ONE of the main characters , the show is called “HAMILTON” Not “ALEXANDER HAMILTON” So it’s his own and his family’s story. Which is why when Alex died it carried on with Eliza in “Who lives , who dies , who tells your story.”

at 22:25 it actually him out of character, i think that its Lin showing Eliza that he talked about her story and not just Alexanders thats why i think that the musical was called Hamilton instead of Alexander Hamilton. i dont know if this is confirmed i just think its a cool concept and thats what makes her gasp ten times better

Yeah, but the musical is not called “Alexander Hamilton” for a reason... it’s just called “Hamilton” because Eliza Hamilton is the one who did the most to tell the story, but did not get the credit she deserved...until she stands in front of the audience at the end, to realise that this musical in fact told her story. Also fun fact the people later used to lovingly refer to Eliza as “Hemmie”, when she was an old woman and that nickname got passed down to her daughter as well :)

Recently found out through another video's comment that, at the end, everyone who has passed in the musical are wearing white. Lin, however, is wearing black, because he was portraying himself, not Hamilton. He essentially broke the fourth wall for Eliza to show that her story was told, hence her reaction at the very end. This might have become common knowledge at this point, but I only recently found out about it and wanted to point it out on here, because that was a fantastic touch.
